GRAMMAR VERB TENSE - FIRST CONDITIONAL

         

- IF + Present Simple + Future Simple   (use the comma between these two sentences)
If Lucy doesn´t  invite us to  her wedding, we won´t give her a present.
If the local shop´s closed, we´ll go to the supermarket.


-Future Simple + IF + Present Simple
Jack will have a party on Friday if his parents go away.
I´ll go to university if I pass my exams.

Grammar Present Perfect Simple and Continuos Exercises


Present Perfect Continuos  - I have been doing.   Ann has been writing letters all day
(quando o interesse é na ação, não importando se a ação tenha sido finalizada ou não)e (quando se quer dizer o tempo que algo vem acontecendo)

Present Perfect Simple - I have done   Ann has written ten letters today.
( quando o interesse é no resultado de algo que foi finalizado)e (quando se quer  quantificar o quanto nos fizemos, quantas coisas foram feitas ou quantas vezes fizemos)



17.1Exercises
2 -  Jimmy is a tennis champion. He began playing tennis when he was 11 years old. Now he  has just won the national championship for the fourth time.
(he/play/tennis since he was 11) - neste caso o importante é o periodo então: He has  been playing tennis since he was 11
(he/win/the national championship four times) - agora o importante é o resultado de ganhar 4 vezes então: He has won the national championship four times
3 -  Bill and Andy make films.They started making films together when they left college.
(they /make/films since they left college) -neste caso o importante é a ação no periodo:They have been making films since they left college
(they/make /ten films since they left college)- neste caso o importante é a quantidade de filmes  então: They have made ten films since they left college.

17.2 This time you have  imagine that you are talking to a friend
 1 - Your friend is waiting for you . How long have you been waiting for me ? (periodo de tempo da ação )
2 - Your friend writes books. How many books have you written?( quantificar os livros )
3 - Your friend writes books. How long have you been writing books.(tempo que esta ocorrendo de escrever livros)
4 -  Your friend plays football for his country. How many times have you played football for your country?.(quantificar )

1 - Look!Somebody has broken (break) that window. ( importante foi a ação terminada)
2 - I  have been reading ( interesse na ação que tem se repetido)(read) the book you gave me but I haven´t finished  (interesse no resultado da ação que começou no passado e ainda não tem resultado)(not/finish) it yet. 
3 - Sorry I´m late. That´s all right. I haven´t been waiting (importante é o periodo de tempo) (not/wait)long.
4 - Hello!I have been cleaning ( importante é a ação que esta sendo repetida) (clean)the window. So far I have cleaned  (quantificar as janelas)(clean) five of them and there are two more to do.
5 - There´s a strange smell in here. Have you been cooking  ( importante não é a finalização da ação) (you/cook) something?
6 - My brother is an actor. He has appeared (importante é o resultado de uma ação do passado até o momento presente)  (appear) in several films.

GRAMMAR VERB TENSE (5) PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE (in construction)

 PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE

auxiliary  HAVE + main verb in past participle form 

when we use  Present Perfect:

- for an action in the Past with the result now
I´ve lost my passport (=I can´t find my passport now)

- just..already...yet
I´ve just...         just= a short time ago
They have just arrive.
I´ve already...      already = before you expected / before I expected    
Yes, I know. We already met.
I haven´t ...yet.      yet = until now   (negative/interrogative)      
They haven´t arrived yet.   Have they arrived yet?

- when we talk about time from the past until now     have been/have had/have played
Have you  been to Japan?
Mary has had many different jobs and has lived in many places.

- present perfect + ever (interrogative) and never
Have you ever played golf?
My mother has never travelled by air.

- gone and been
Bill has gone in Spain. (he is in Spain now)
Bill has been to Spain.(he went to Spain but now he is back)

- How long have you...?

quando se está interessando no resultado de uma ação e não na ação
The ceiling was white . Now it´s blue.
 He painted the ceiling. 
Neste caso o importante foi que a ação foi terminada, usa se PP

Affirmative form:
I have done.
Somebody has stolen my car.

Negative form:
I haven´t done.
Anybody hasn´t stolen my car.

Interrogative form:
Have I done?
Has anybody stolen my car?

Irregular: a different form regular:
child -> children
person -> people


 "persons" is not the plural form of "person", persons = individuos
 "peoples" is not the plural form os "peoples", peoples = povos, populações
